Contact Types & Status

Contact Type and Contact Status help you organize and manage contacts correctly.

Contact Type defines who the contact is.

Contact Status defines the current subscription or delivery condition of the contact.

You can manage these from:

WordPress Dashboard → NextCRM → Contact Settings → Options

Contact Types

Contact Type helps you classify contacts based on their relationship with your business.

Default contact types include:

  • Contact
  • Customer
  • Lead
  • Partner
  • Client
  • Other

Contact

Use Contact for general contacts.

This is useful when the person does not belong to a more specific category yet.

Customer

Use Customer for people who have purchased a product or service.

Lead

Use Lead for people who may become customers in the future.

Partner

Use Partner for collaborators, affiliates, business partners, or integration partners.

Client

Use Client for service-based customers or long-term business relationships.

Other

Use Other when the contact does not fit into any default type.

Contact Status

Contact Status shows the email subscription or delivery condition of a contact.

Default contact statuses include:

  • Subscribed
  • Bounced
  • Complained
  • Pending
  • Unsubscribed

Subscribed

A Subscribed contact is active and can receive emails.

Use this status for people who have joined your list or agreed to receive communication.

Bounced

A Bounced contact means email delivery failed.

This can happen when the email address is invalid, inactive, or unable to receive messages.

Complained

A Complained contact means the contact has marked an email as spam or made a complaint.

This status helps you protect your sender reputation.

Pending

A Pending contact is not fully active yet.

This can be used for contacts waiting for confirmation, approval, or verification.

Unsubscribed

An Unsubscribed contact has opted out from receiving emails.

You should not send regular marketing emails to unsubscribed contacts.
