Contact Settings

The Contact Settings area controls how contacts behave inside NextCRM.

You can manage default contact type, default contact status, display columns, quick preview, automatic assignment, subscription behavior, and cleanup settings.

You can access it from:

WordPress Dashboard → NextCRM → Contact Settings → Settings

Quick Contact Preview

Quick Contact Preview allows you to preview contact details directly from the contact list.

When enabled, you can check important contact information faster without opening the full contact profile page.

Use this option if you regularly review contacts from the contact table.

Assign Contacts

The Assign Contacts section helps you automatically assign new contacts to selected lists or tags.

Auto Assign to Lists

Use this option to automatically add new contacts to one or more selected lists.

This is useful when every new contact should go into a default list, such as:

  • Newsletter Subscribers
  • Website Leads
  • General Contacts

Auto Assign to Tags

Use this option to automatically assign selected tags to new contacts.

This is useful for marking contacts with default tags such as:

  • New Subscriber
  • Website Lead
  • Imported Contact

Advanced Settings

The Advanced Settings section controls subscription behavior, user registration, unsubscribe behavior, and contact cleanup options.

Subscribe Message

This message is shown after a contact subscribes.

Example:

Thank you for subscribing!

You can customize this message based on your brand tone.

Auto Register as User

When enabled, new contacts can be automatically registered as WordPress users.

This is useful for membership, LMS, or customer-based websites where contacts also need user accounts.

Use this option carefully because it can create WordPress user accounts automatically.

Delete Contact on User Delete

When enabled, the related NextCRM contact will be deleted when the connected WordPress user is deleted.

This helps keep your CRM database clean.

Delete User on Unsubscribe

When enabled, the associated WordPress user account will be deleted when the contact unsubscribes.

Use this option only if it matches your website workflow.

Redirect User on Unsubscribe

When enabled, users can be redirected to an unsubscribe page after unsubscribing.

This is useful if you want to show a confirmation page or collect feedback after unsubscribe.

Auto Delete Unsubscribed Contacts

This setting controls how many days unsubscribed contacts will remain in your database.

Set the value to 0 to disable automatic deletion.

Example:

  • 0 means do not auto delete
  • 30 means delete after 30 days
  • 90 means delete after 90 days

Attempts Default Status

This setting controls what status should be applied after contact attempt limits are reached.

Available options include:

  • Subscribed
  • Bounced
  • Complained
  • Pending
  • Unsubscribed

For failed delivery attempts, Bounced can be used as the default attempt status.

Attempts Times

This setting controls how many attempts are allowed before the contact is marked with the selected attempt status.

Example:

If the value is 3, NextCRM will update the contact status after 3 attempts.

Auto Delete Contact Logs

This setting controls how many days contact logs should be stored.

Set the value to 0 to disable automatic log deletion.

This helps manage database size over time.
