Forms Settings

The Forms Settings page controls default form behavior in NextCRM.

These settings help you decide how form submissions should be assigned and how forms should handle confirmation and spam protection.

You can access it from:

WordPress Dashboard → NextCRM → Forms Settings

or:

NextCRM → Settings → Forms

Assign List & Tags

The Assign List & Tags section controls default list and tag assignment for form submissions.

This section includes:

  • Assign List
  • Assign Tags

Assign List

Use Assign List to select which list new form contacts should be added to.

Example:

Newsletter Subscribers
Website Leads
Popup Subscribers

This helps you keep new form submissions organized.

Assign Tags

Use Assign Tags to apply tags to new contacts created from form submissions.

Example:

Form Subscriber
Website Lead
Popup Signup
Contact Form

Tags help identify the contact source or interest.

Dual Opt-in Settings

Dual opt-in settings control confirmation emails for new subscribers.

When dual opt-in is enabled, new contacts receive a confirmation email and must click the confirmation link.

Available dual opt-in fields include:

  • Enable Dual Opt-in
  • Dual Opt-in Email Subject
  • Dual Opt-in Email Content

reCAPTCHA Settings

reCAPTCHA settings help protect forms from spam.

Available reCAPTCHA fields include:

  • Enable reCAPTCHA v2
  • Site Key
  • Secret Key
  • Google reCAPTCHA v3 option

Enable reCAPTCHA if your forms receive spam or bot submissions.

Recommended Forms Settings

For most websites, this setup works well:

Assign List: Newsletter Subscribers or Website Leads
Assign Tags: Form Subscriber or Website Lead
Dual Opt-in: ON for newsletter forms
reCAPTCHA: ON for public forms

For lead generation forms, use a lead-focused list and tag.

Example:

Assign List: Website Leads
Assign Tags: Pricing Interested
Dual Opt-in: Optional
reCAPTCHA: ON

For newsletter forms, use:

Assign List: Newsletter Subscribers
Assign Tags: Newsletter Signup
Dual Opt-in: ON
reCAPTCHA: ON

Save Settings

After updating Forms Settings, click Save.

Changes will not apply until the settings are saved.

Important Note

Forms Settings may work as global/default settings, while individual form settings can be configured from the form create or edit screen.

For better control, review both:

NextCRM → Forms → Edit Form
NextCRM → Forms Settings

This helps make sure each form assigns contacts correctly.
